Introduction

This course is conducted according to the standards and latest guidelines of the American Heart Association and DOSH Guidelines on First Aid in the Workplace in Malaysia.

First Aid topics covers basic life support steps for CPR, AED and Choking. Medical emergencies such as Diabetes Emergencies, Seizure, Severe Allergy, Heart Attack, Stroke, Sudden Cardiac Arrest. Trauma Emergencies such as Drowning, Head & Spinal Injury, Bleeding & Shock, Burn Injuries, Muscle, Joint and Bone injuries.

Outcome

Upon successful completion of the course, the participants will be able to:

- Understand the basic first aid principles and emergency management in workplace and home.
- Identify life-threatening medical conditions and give appropriate first aid treatment.
- Perform High Quality CPR skills for Adult, Child and Infant.
- Use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) for a sudden cardiac arrest victim.
- Relieve a foreign-body airway obstruction (Choking) for Adult, Child and Infant.

(Hons) in Nursing Practice Development (UK) and is a certified Basic Life Support Instructor from the American Heart Association(USA). Vivien is the principal consultant and founder of Hanniel Consulting in 2002. The company is a registered training provider with PSMB/HRDCorp, specialized in providing First Aid and Basic Life Support(CPR/AED) training and certification to laypersons and medical professionals in the country.
